Engineer designed, extensively tested this design spreadsheet is in a class of its own. Using the work energy method that has been extensively tested on working machines after months of research into motion system design this spreadsheet is designed for a  gantry machine with 2 motors on Y, one on X and a ballscrew for the Z axis. However the number of motors per axis is configurable. Simply enter your motion profile and desugn cut time (typically 1-2 seconds and 1% accelleration/decelleration profile in %), your axis weights (in kg), maximum cut speeds (mm per minute), pinion diameter (in metres) and gearbox ratios.  Pinion diameter and gearbox ratios are key tuning paremeters.

Then enter your chosen motor details and the system will calulate required amperage and voltages required for your chosen motors to meet the engineering requirements.

A motor fails the design test if it requires too high a voltage for your stepper drives, if the required current exceeds the motors quoted current spec or the temperature rise is too high.  Reach out through Discord if you need further assistance.
